The BARD Group was founded in 2003 with a visionary concept in mind: development, manufacture and operation of offshore wind turbines on the high seas – on a turn-key basis and from a single source.
From the outset, we have relied on our own expertise and our own new technical developments. We offer innovation and quality without compromise. Our companies now cover the complete value chain in the field of power generation from offshore wind energy.
At the end of 2010, the company's founder Dr. Arngolt Bekker assigned his shares to a trustee, paving the way for a long-term and economically profitable solution for the BARD Group. This transferral coincided with the ultimate withdrawal of Dr. Bekker from the company.
In 2011, a new management team successfully positioned the BARD Group on a solid foundation for the future, also ensuring the completion of the BARD Offshore 1 wind farm by the end of 2013.
The investor process for the BARD Group has been ongoing since November 2011. The goal is to secure the further development of the group of companies with a strategic investor. A decision is expected to be reached in the first quarter of 2012.
Today our vision has become a reality: The optimal combination of intelligent, environment-friendly technologies with economic opportunities and challenges to ensure a safe, economical and ecologically sustainable energy supply.
BARD is currently the only company to have gained reliable experience in the construction of wind turbines on the high seas and in up to 40 metres of water depth. BARD is determined to increase this competitive edge.
